Faina Zakharova

Faina Zakharova was at the forefront of reviving the traditions of philanthropy: she organized and inspired the establishment of the IUCN branch in Russia (1992) and WWF Russia (1995), started the Life Line program for saving seriously ill children (2005). She is also the creator and co-organizer of the Year of charity in Russia (2006), lead expert in PR, fundraising and marketing for the non-profit sector. Faina Zakharova was awarded the Decoration For Beneficence (2013). She currently heads the Life Line Charity Foundation, which has helped to save 11 359 children in 16 years of its activity. She believes that the strategic objective of her work is to develop the culture of charity in society by involving a variety of people regardless of their social status.
